Employee Acquisition Story: Pete Litka

At Perseus, every acquisition marks the start of a new chapter for the business, its leaders, and its people. This series highlights the individuals who’ve navigated that change firsthand, finding new avenues for growth, connection, and purpose within the Perseus and Constellation ecosystem.

In this edition, Pete Litka shares his journey from decades at Majiq to leading Optiviq and reflects on the experiences that shaped his career and perspective on acquisitions.

I’m Pete Litka, I’m the President and General Manager of Optiviq. I learned a lot of different things through the course of my early years at Majiq. And eventually, after 32 years, I had the opportunity to join Optiviq.

One of the most pivotal moments that had an impact on my career was my first trip to a paper mill back in 1993. I’d been with Majiq for two months, and then they sent me to go train on our software.

I became a customer advocate; I became the person that could talk to our customers on the manufacturing floor and translate their needs to our software developers who were trying to solve their problems.

So, when Constellation first acquired Majiq there was a lot of hesitation. I thought to myself, what are we in for now? But ultimately, the hesitation turned into comfort. Constellations supported us in continuing to deliver on the promises we made to our customers.

Constellation has demonstrated overtime, through other acquisitions that I’ve been part of that they are investing in what you’ve built. A lot of the companies that join us are led by the great entrepreneurs that built them. They’re looking for a smooth hand off.

Constellation honors what they’ve built, and they’re committing to giving your customers, and your employees a long-term future. What you built doesn’t go to waste, it continues on.
