Employee Acquisition Stories – David Pawelke

At Perseus, each acquisition opens new possibilities for the people and businesses joining our ecosystem. This series spotlights those stories of growth and transformation.

In this edition, David Pawelke of MAJIQ reflects on how becoming part of Constellation brought renewed support, investment, and shared learning that reshaped the company’s path forward.

My name is David Pawelke. I’m the GM at MAJIQ, and I’ve been with them for 27 years. I grew up and my father was in the pulp and paper industry. He was a printer. So jokingly, I always told him I would never work in the paper industry. And so he was super happy that I got a job working at MAJIQ. I was going to work there for a couple of years, and that was 27 years ago.

Our previous owners were hands-off to a fault, really. They had all these high expectations, but there was really no involvement. Ever since we’ve been part of Constellation, we’ve been looked after and helped. I don’t think we would have existed anymore if it wasn’t for Constellation. Our customers are so much happier than they were before. So yeah, it was really transformative for us as a company. The ability to invest in your company, invest in your products, and have a meaningful ability to do that versus just, ‘hey, you got to make money this quarter’.

What keeps me excited or what makes me excited about work is the growth opportunities. And I think it’s the ideas that we get from other companies on how we can grow. Our market is different than other markets, but we’re still a software company, vertically focused. We learn so many things, initiative managers, the way we sell our software, how we manage it, and all those other kind of things. There’s so many opportunities and you get all that information from Perseus.
