The Alchemist

Paulo Coelho’s allegorical novel follows Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who journeys across the desert in pursuit of a recurring dream of treasure near the Egyptian pyramids. Along the way he encounters teachers; a king, an Englishman, an alchemist, who guide him toward understanding his “Personal Legend,” the unique purpose each person is called to fulfill.
